Named in honour of a woman who cooks food on a beach in Brazil, LoLa! Is a craft beer created in collaboration between Brutal Brewing and Supper. The former is an initiative of Spendrups, one of Sweden’s biggest breweries, and the latter is a Swedish based restaurant that serves South American food with a Scandinavian twist. Supper wanted this fusion of cultures to be expressed in the product’s packaging, designed by the Scandinavian studio Neumeister. As one beer with one label, the brand is able to present two different sides to its character; ‘Lo’ for Swedish calmness and restraint, and ‘La’ for Latin pizzazz. It is herein that its beauty lies.

Another one for the summer, Ana Caracaleanu has released the Amevie sunglasses as she tries to revolutionise the sun care industry. After identifying the fashion sector as the second largest polluter in the world, she has produced an eco-aware product made from bamboo which requires very few resources to grow. These are only produced in line with demand thereby creating less waste, as well as Amevie offering repair services so the sunglasses can last as long as possible. What is striking however is that, if you order a pair, the company will donate prescription glasses to a child in need.....Amazing!

Rotterdam-based studio Sober Industries are masters of projection mapping and their work is on display in Manchester. They installed four giant sculptures of endangered animals – a polar bear, a red squirrel, a whale and a bee. These were colourfully lit and brought to life during the darkness of night. Projection mapping, also called 'spatial augmented reality', is essentially projection technology used to turn objects into display surfaces for videos – thank you to our friends at Digital Arts for this neat explainer!

La Cuccanga, 2017

Italian street artist Blu has been decorating the buildings of Italy with his huge multi-storey murals. The use of vivid colours means that they’re hard to miss, but so are the typically provocative meanings behind them. Blu uses his murals to comment on issues such as the housing crisis in the Celadina district of Bergamo, and global landfill pollution.

Ever wondered what Jupiter looks like from an altitude of about 62,800 miles? Well, it’s beautiful. Thanks to NASA’s spaceship Juno, launched in 2011, we can now imagine what it’s like to fly over the giant planet. On its 12-orbit journey around Jupiter, Juno has been busy recording six megabytes of data and snapping photos. Thanks to photographer Sean Doran and mathematician Gerald Eichstädt, these still images have now been colourised and stitched together, creating this gorgeous video.
