Dutch cinematographer Armand Dijcks has made these magnificent photos of crashing waves come to life in a new montage of cinemagraphs. He has turned the still images taken by Australian photographer Ray Collins into a sequence of 4K seascape vignettes. Cinemagraphs are typically a series of still images published as GIFS but Dijcks decided to display them as a type of slow-motion short film called ‘The Infinite Now’. Breath-taking.  Hurrah, the times of bulky bike helmets are over! Thanks to Morpher, the world's first flat-pack helmet. Until now inventor Jeffrey Woolf’s company raised over £659,000 and has sold more than 4,000 foldable helmets worldwide. One of the biggest fans is tennis legend Andy Murray: ‘Morpher is a product that the modern cyclist should own.’ A full article can be read here at our friends over at The Memo here: https://www.thememo.com/2017/05/15/morpher-helmet-andy-murray-backed-businesses-seedrs-crowdfunding-cycling-news/

The tube, the buses, the cabs – London is many things, but hardly ever quiet. So open your ears and take a look at what London sounds like. More than 100 illustrators worldwide entered into the annual Prize for Illustration competition put on by the London Museum of Transport and the Association of Illustrators. This year’s artists were encouraged to visualise city 'hubbub' and quiet spaces in one illustration. The exhibition "visual interpretations of urban sound" at the London Transport Museum from May 19.

After being commissioned as part of The Festival of Making, Manchester-based creative studio Lazerian created this stunning installation in an abandoned cinema and 19th century Cotton Exchange. Using the expertise of The Cardboard Box Company in Accrington to print each component with a graded colour scheme, the 10ft tall, walk-in ‘pods’ are fashioned purely from this material, and depict the juxtaposition of how modern factories workers tend to be both isolated and inter-dependent. To read more head on over to Lazerian here: https://lazerian.com/blogs/pro...

Phidala, detail. Cut paper, gold leaf, 24″ x 30″, 2017.

Inspired by Gothic and Islamic architecture, Eric Standley uses lasers to make precision cuts into over 100 layers of paper and create beautiful patterns like the one shown above. Standley references the self-replicating pattern of fractal geometry in his designs and ensures that they abide by the golden ratio, much like a DNA braid.
